Pretend to be a four-year-old child. It’s your birthday. Your parents tell you they have a very big surprise waiting for you. How exciting would that be? I remember being a child and how everything seems so big and wondrous and exciting! It’s a feeling I would give anything to have again. I think most of us would. The innocence and sense of trust a child has that everything is going to be magical is something that should be celebrated and fostered by every parent! Children only get to be little once, and for such a short time! I applaud these parents for filling their sons childhood with this much wonder. There was a small unfinished storage space behind the wall of their son’s bedroom. It was unfinished, and not safe for a very little one, so they covered it with a dresser. For four years it was there, and the boy never knew. His parents decided to get it fixed up for his impending fourth birthday. They hired a contractor that replace the floor, painted the walls, and got it started to becoming a most fantastic hidden treasure room a little boy has ever had. Mom placed a giant treasure map on the wall, a chest full of dress-up clothes and toys all throughout. A little table and chairs for the little mister to sit and his secret hideaway was complete! Mom and dad set up a fun treasure hunt with clues all throughout the house leading to pushing the dresser out of the way and discovering the door to his favorite new place to be!
